Your first climb
How to play Noillirk
Noillirk asks you to choose the answer other people might reach for first. Read an everyday prompt, type one answer, and watch your balloons carry you higher.
Play NoillirkStart with a seven-question climb
Open the game on the homepage and choose Classic for a fresh run or Daily for the day's shared set. Press Begin ascent. The first prompt appears with a 15-second timer and an answer field.
Read the entire question before typing. Its category matters: a question about a lunchbox has a different emphasis from one about a birthday party. Give one short answer, then press Climb or Enter. You do not need to write a full sentence.
An accepted answer ends the round and reveals its tier. After the ascent, choose Next to continue. Daily and Classic finish after seven prompts; the results panel brings your answers and points together.
A practice question: what goes in a lunchbox?
Example from this edition
Name a fruit people put in a lunchbox.
Apple is this board's first answer and earns 100 points. Banana is second and earns 64. Pear is sixth and earns 32. Each fits the question, but the first position pays the most.
Try choosing between a few familiar examples rather than searching for the most unusual one. Say the plain name of the thing you mean. If two choices seem equally natural, pick one and leave yourself time to submit it.
This site's boards are fixed editorial rankings. The example illustrates the game, rather than reporting how a measured group of respondents voted. Other editions can rank an answer differently.
What to do when an answer is refused
A refusal leaves the question open while time remains. It does not deduct points already earned. Clear the field and try another answer; do not wait for the timer to expire while deciding whether the first one should have counted.
- Give one answer. Combining two alternatives can be refused.
- Check that your answer matches the restriction in the prompt.
- Use the name of a specific thing rather than a catch-all such as “everything.”
- Try another familiar option if a sensible answer is outside this edition's list.
Common variants and small spelling errors can be recognized, but a plausible answer is not guaranteed acceptance. Passing or finishing the timer without an accepted answer scores zero for that round.
Choose the mode that suits your session
Daily: the same set for this date
Daily selects seven questions for the UTC date. Players of this edition receive that set, and the next day starts at midnight UTC. Your progress stays in this browser, so you can return to an unfinished daily climb on the same device.
Classic: another short attempt
Classic deals seven questions and favors ones you have not seen recently. Use it to learn the boards, try a different answer instinct and improve your personal best without waiting for tomorrow.
Endless: keep three balloons afloat
Endless begins with three balloons. A pass or timeout removes one. Any accepted answer preserves your remaining balloons, and Sky High restores a missing one, up to three. The run continues while you have a balloon left.
Multiplayer: share a room
Choose Play multiplayer, enter a public room or create a private one, and invite friends using its six-digit code. Everyone needs to open this same website: this edition's room codes do not connect to another site's rooms.
Use the results to improve your next run
After a Daily or Classic climb, open a prompt in your answer summary to see its listed answers. Notice where your choice landed and which option was first. That is more useful than memorizing a single total: the next prompt will ask a different question.
Speed gives no extra points. Aim to make a clear choice in time, then review the board afterward. Read the Noillirk scoring guide for exact tiers and worked seven-round totals.
About this Noillirk edition
Noillirk was created by Daily. This site uses its own 50-question collection and answer boards. The creator's Noillirk page describes the original balloon-climb game; this guide explains the controls and modes available here.
Quick questions
How long do I have to answer a Noillirk question?
Daily, Classic and Endless give you 15 seconds per prompt. Submit one answer before the timer expires.
Can I retry after a refused answer?
Yes, while time remains. A refusal does not deduct points already earned, but passing or timing out gives zero for the round.
Do multiplayer room codes work on other Noillirk sites?
No. Everyone must use this same website to join this edition’s public or private rooms.
